Almost 400 young people gathered at Christ Cathedral in Orange County to start off the new year in the right way, at Korean American Catholic Youth Day. To reinforce Pope Francis’ message of becoming the church of mercy, in this year of mercy that began officially on December 8, 2015, the theme of the day was “Rich in Mercy.”
Personal highlights include the Eucharistic Adoration, made especially beautiful by the Praise Team who, like every year, are just top notch. We had entertaining and energetic MC’s in my friends Suzy Yu and seminarian Cheeyoon Chun, our parish’s talent show skit went really well and was very moving, and all our high school students had a blessed time, worshipping, praising, meeting fellow Korean American Catholics, and even saying hi via video call to our brothers and sisters in Northern California who were having a KCYD simultaneously to us!
And of course, and I was also privileged to speak on the subject of how mercy begins with us. Thank you to the FIAT Foundation for this beautiful day!
